8 ways to know that you’ve found the perfect creative partner
We know a thing or two about finding the right creative partners. In fact, our model is based on it and we, and our clients, love the creativity and efficiency that comes from finding the right people for the job, every time.
Today, we’re going to let you in on how we just know we are in the perfect creative partnership. Perhaps you’ll even realise that we are the perfect agency partner for your next brief.
You never know when you’ll find the one!
1. They know the end goal.
Any project should start with getting total clarity on what success looks like for you, the client. A beautiful brand which is not fit for purpose or doesn’t empower people to execute it has failed miserably, no matter how ‘on trend’ it is – or how it adds to your agency’s portfolio!
Your creative partner should help you define the end goal – and focus on it in everything they do. Only then are you getting real value from your budget.
2. They treat your brand with respect.
We all know that humanising your brand creates cut through, but it is tricky to do right. Even for a seemingly simple execution, your creative partner should treat your brand as a living and breathing entity.
Getting under the skin of your brand is critical, only then can your creative partner give you recommendations that work and further your brand story.
3. They care about you and your business.
Design has a job to do – to creatively translate what your business needs. A perfect creative partner needs to understand business as much as branding.
We’re not talking about a superficial, transactional relationship. Your creative partner should want to understand your business and goals to help you achieve them.
4. They are there when you need them.
A true partner understands what else you have going on – and how they can slot into that life. To us, an ideal creative partner has both agency and client side experience so they get the internal politics and complexities and come armed with solutions.
A perfect creative partner is an extension of you – and your team.

5. They want to go steady.
Not everyone likes surprises. All brilliant creatives need a process that can flex to the challenge at hand. Steady processes allow for iterative collaboration – not big reveals that can leave you with cold feet.
The perfect creative relationship flourishes the more work you do together. Soon, they’ll be anticipating your every need.
6. Your friends like them.
Okay, so not your actual friends –though if they do, that’s cool – but your industry peers. Your perfect creative counterpart will have some stories to tell that put you at ease and let you know that you are in good hands. If those stories can come from someone else you know and trust, even better.
You want others to say good things about your creative partner, to help you validate them when you introduce them to your parents…sorry, boss. On that note, did you know that we’ve been recognised by your friends at Creativepool and UK Agency awards in the last year?
7. There’s something special about them.
You know when you get that feeling. When you meet that someone special. Diversity of thought and strong values can lead to great things.
Just 0.1% of creative agencies founded and run by women yet women drive 70-80% of the purchasing decisions. We have an entirely female leadership team and think that makes us pretty special.
8. They’ll leave the world better than they found it.
Your perfect creative partner is surely a good person doing good things. They could get preachy about it – or they could make change. Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. They are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, suppliers, community, and the environment.
